Cockfighting is a terrible practice where people make bets as two roosters are placed in a ring to fight to the death. The birds are bred to be aggressive and often wear knives that are attached to their spurs. These ‘weapons’ are sharp enough to break bones or puncture an eye or lung.
Investigations have shown that cockfighting is usually connected to other crimes like gambling, drugs, illegal firearm sales and even murder. Furthermore, because cock-fighting rings are often family-run operations, children are usually present, too. Such exposure to this cruelty could desensitize children and make them think that animal abuse is acceptable.
Cockfighting is illegal in all states but its continuations means that states need to make harsher penalties. Many states have raised the criminal charge from a misdemeanor to a felony, but not all states have gotten on board yet.

This is so inhumane! It is no different than pitting men against each other in Rome for sport. If you have ever had an animal, you will be aware of how barbaric and horrific this truly is!

These are God's creatures just like we are! God didn't put us on this earth to take his wonderful creatures & we watch them destroy each other! God put us all here so that we could help take care of these amazing creatures!
I totally agree. I do believe that is one of our purposes..to help care for all creatures - and the environment we all live in. a despicable practice and it needs to be stopped.
When you say it's natural for these magnificent birds to fight, your missing the whole point. It is absolutely cruel to "purposely" put these birds together to make them fight. For profit especially. We, his children have been put on this great earth to protect these special creatures who, by the way feel pain just as we do. When you say "your people" you are a part of God's children because he created all of his children equally.
