For more than 18 years Ecuadorian Amazonian communities have waged a historic "David vs. Goliath" battle for justice. When Texaco (now Chevron) decided to deliberately dump 18 billion gallons of toxic foundation waters into the pristine rainforest they were also choosing to poison entire communities. The legal battle has been won after over a decade yet Chevron has vowed not to pay up the $18 billion judgment. Later this month two Ecuadorian representatives of the 30,000 plaintiffs will leave their Amazonian homes and travel to San Ramon, CA for the first time, to confront Chevron. Please join them in this journey.

This case has remained alive because of people like Luz Cusangua, an ecological farmer of the northeastern Ecuadorian Amazon and Robinson Yumbo, the president of the National Indigenous Federation of the Cofan Tribe. It is because of their persistence and courage for over 18 years that what many to be the largest corporate accountability case in history continues on. Chevron must never forget that their actions have real and dire affect on the people of this planet and they must never escape responsibility for their destruction of the environment and of the lives of so many.

You can help make this trip a reality and make it possible for Luz and Robinsons to make the journey to stand face to face with Chevron CEO John Watson as well as the board of directors, shareholders, the media and an international community of support standing ready to lend their voices to this epic battle for justice.

Thank you!

The campaign to support our Ecuadorian partners to attend and confront Chevron at their annual shareholder meeting was a great success. Thanks to all who supported this effort! There were many news stories about the event, but you can see our blog and photo-updates here: http://amazonwatch.org/news/2012/0530-ecuadorians-shake-up-chevron-shareholder-meeting

Help our beloved Ecuadorians!

Let's support this noble cause. Time to make people and Earth first.

Hi all, once again representatives of the courageous 30,000 Ecuadorians fighting Chevron will come to confront the CEO et al at the shareholder meeting. Luz and Robinson have never been here before and we want to show them much support for this lifelong inspirational struggle. Please share this appeal. Thanks!

I am having same problem donating for this particular project. Cannot select United Kingdon because there is no option for it! Managed to donate fine when supporting the Clearwater project earlier today.
