Saturday, in secret, the state legislation of Minnesota cast the final votes to allow a WOLF HUNT in the fall. 400 majestic wolves are slated to die. With both the state assembly and the state senate calling for the blood of wolves - only one thing stands in the way of a Minnesota massacre, and that is if the governor of Minnesota refuses to sign the bill in to law! Please contact Governor Mark Dayton and tell him NOT to allow the wolf hunt to take place, NOT to sign HF 2171 into law.
Here is the link to contact the governor:

For 40 years Minnesota has had good wolf management and now, they too, are ready to jump on the wolf blood train - thanks, in part, to Representative Candace Miller (R-MN) who has been trying since last year to get a law passed to hunt wolves in all the lower 48 states! She is pandering to extreme hunting groups for votes and lobbying favors.
I realize this is inconvenient and even a bother....but just imagine what the wolves will have to endure in the fall if we do nothing. There is a great chance that the governor will not respond favorably to our requests, but we do have to howl for the wolves in any and every way we can.

  1. Update #5

Despite your much appreciated efforts to protect Minnesota's wolves from hunting and trapping, by contacting MN Governor Mark Dayton, we are sad to report that yesterday the governor signed bill 2171 into law. This will allow the hunting and trapping of 400 majestic Minnesota wolves, to commence in the fall. Another domino state has fallen.
This also flies in the face of the Native Americans, granted sovereignty in that region, and over 200 million acres.....they were not even consulted...

This also flies in the face of the Native Americans, granted sovereignty in that region, and over 200 million acres.....they were not even consulted about the proposed demise of 400 of their spiritual brethren...the wolf.
The legislators that vote against wildlife should be held accountable for their voting records, and pandering to special interest groups for votes and favors. Less than 15% of Americans hunt, and less than 2% trap animals....why are they getting all of the legislation on their side? Why do they have all the 'say' when it comes to wolves and other wildlife?
How can we work to begin to dismantle the power structure that exists; the lobbying of extreme hunting organizations, like the NRA and Safari Club International, the fish and wildlife services, and hold accountable the "please like me politicians" who pander for votes and a secure position? How can we begin to dismantle this horrific system?
Many howls for trying to save the wolves of Minnesota....

HERE IS MINNESOTA GOVERNOR MARK DAYTON'S CONTACT NUMBER 651-201-3400 or 1-800-657-3717. DON'T BE INTIMIDATED BY HIS STAFF OR PUT OFF, POLITELY SAY THAT A BOYCOTT WILL ENSUE IF HE SIGNS THE WOLF HUNT INTO LAW. WE MUST USE OUR CONSUMER LEVERAGE TO SAVE WOLVES!
A written letter is also powerful:
Governor Mark Dayton, 130 State Capitol, 75 Rev Martin Luther King Blvd, St. Paul, MN 55155 - tell him Minnesota has a great 40 year record of good wolf management - why change policy now? ...

One of our wolf advocates was told my Governor Dayton's office that "they will only consider opinions of Minnesota residents, regarding the wolf hunt bill, waiting to be signed into law by the governor" - other advocates have spoken to employees of the governor's office with no indication that all 'opinions' had to be from Minnesota residents! I think, may be, the governor's staff is tired of answering the phone about this matter, and some of them are just trying to let the issue die. IN...

I think, may be, the governor's staff is tired of answering the phone about this matter, and some of them are just trying to let the issue die. IN EITHER SCENARIO - I KNOW THE GOVERNOR WOULD PAY ATTENTION IF WE POLITELY EXPRESSED THAT MINNESOTA WOULD JOIN THE RANKS OF BOYCOTTED STATES, SHOULD HE SIGN THE BILL TO ALLOW THE WOLF HUNT (BILL 2171).
Please call and politely let them know we are prepared to boycott Minnesota - all travel, tourism, and products - should this bill be signed into law. WE CANNOT ALLOW 400 MORE MAJESTIC WOLVES TO BE TAKEN FROM OUR WORLD!

  4. Update #2

RETRACTION: CANDACE MILLER IS A REPUBLICAN CONGRESSWOMAN FROM MICHIGAN AND NOT MINNESOTA! SHE STILL HAS INTRODUCED LEGISLATION, THAT IF PASSED, WILL ALLOW HUNTING WOLVES IN ALL THE LOWER 48 STATES. BUT SHE IS NOT THE FOCUS HERE....THE FOCUS IS URGING GOVERNOR MARK DAYTON 'NOT' TO SIGN THE WOLF HUNT OF MINNESOTA (BILL 2171) INTO LAW!! THANK YOU!

Please send an e-mail to the Minnesota Gov. and tell him our rights as citizens of this country are being violated by hunters. America's wildlife belongs to all of us. If the politicians don't hear now- they will on election day.

I left a message for Gov Dayton telling him I will boycott Minnesota for travel plans and will urge others to do so as well. Please everyone, send a message.

Have emailed the governor pleading for the lives of the wolves and our world.

I sent an e-mail to Gov. Dayton. I am from New Jersey & oppose the bear hunt here in the northwest part of my state. Often, the money from hunting licenses is an incentive for government to sanction the killing of wildlife. The fact that an animal may pose no threat doesn't seem to be a consideration. In fact the opposite is cited as the reason for a hunt. If government is pandering to hunters and the NRA, for any reason, I am ashamed of that goverment. Government is supposed to be BY...

FOR THE PEOPLE. I thought this meant ALL THE PEOPLE. But clearly, the governing bodies of our country favor a FEW PEOPLE. I am disappointed and ashamed.

Corina Streahorn Linda Camac let a man in the UK use this address: Ricky Lufc Hilden - feel free to use this American address - 7928 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19128 - hope that helps!

I know the people of Northern Minnesota are much more in tune than the rest of the state. That is why it is your job to represent those who live for the land and the animals and know it is the wolf who keeps our land clean, pest free and healthy for all of us, lower in the food chain. Supporting those who hunt for a trophy is very sick. Wake up!

Kyle James Gibbons

Just need one hunting season, with being Shot @. They will wise up and stay scarce.

Debbie Gibbons

Kyle James Gibbons cool. I agree and as I hear they are safe at all the Reservations. They've been invited to stay. We will see who has a cleaner environment, less mice, bugs and disease, with wolf protection.

I posted all of the on the Care2 Network yesterday and so far 24 people have called/faxed/emailed, and a total of 52 people have read this - they don't always comment but they do take action. So, hopefully, this will get through to the governor and he will do the right thing! Otherwise, I will post the boycott notice!

I cant use the contact form for US citizens, I can't post on his fb page and I can't find an email anywhere. help someone?
