Please donate to IRAP to help help treat and evacuate Iraqis who have been targeted or beaten.
While LGBT individuals have never been safe in Iraq, the last couple of weeks have seen a renewed round of killings, specifically targeting LGBT individuals and so-called "emo's," short for "emotional hardcore" (basically, young people with long hair, piercings or tattoos). We are currently in contact with nearly 30 LGBT individuals in Iraq, the vast majority of whom have been directly threatened, kidnapped or beaten and are in desperate fear for their lives.
By combining this donation with our extensive network of contacts on the ground, IRAP will identify, vet, triage and evacuate the individuals in urgent need of protection to a safe location.
We are looking for short term funding to provide transportation, food and shelter to these LGBT individuals. We estimate that we need to raise a TOTAL of $55,000 for movement, shelter and temporary support staff.
We hope to raise $20,000 of that total online. Please help us reach our Causes fundraising goal! Donate what you can and then share with your friends and family!
