Healthy Kids Challenge® (HKC) is a nationally recognized 501c(3) whose mission it is to develop leaders who help kids and families eat healthy and move more. HKC offers simple solutions through workshops, events, toolkits, a website, newsletters and programming. Created by registered dietitians, six healthy eating and active play practices make teaching and learning simple and fun.
Our Hear-See-Do approach with interactive learning helps kids and adults HEAR a healthy message, SEE how to make healthy choices, and then DO – practice building skills for making healthy change a habit!
A day in the life of HKC? Our days are filled with writing healthy eating tip sheets for moms, developing nutrition education materials for schools, offering support and quick tips through social media avenues, traveling across the country to work with leaders who care about kids, and answering your questions by phone and e-mail. We want to do more, that’s why we’ve set up the Ten for Ten project through our Cause. Schools and communities alike are challenged with shrinking budgets and limited staffing but the need to help kids be healthy just keeps getting larger and larger. We can deliver more nutrition education materials, and offer more training webinars, support more leaders by phone and e-mail with your help. Let’s build a healthy world, one kid at a time.
