Currently, there are more homeless children in the U.S. than at any other time since the Great Depression. Unfortunately, the stresses of homelessness often lead to anxiety, depression, poor sleep habits, and behavioral issues.
1.5 million American children go to sleep without a home each year. To help these homeless children, Project Night Night donates over 25,000 Night Night Packages every year. Each child receives a book which encourages reading and family bonding, a security blanket that can be cuddled, and a stuffed animal that can become a cherished friend.

but in all honesty argentina falls into the category of those countries that are being helped through things such as missionaries etc... so yes you are right we need to make this more clear U.S.A. children we have a greater need than your eyes are able to see

I guess some people believe the old saying that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence when it comes to adopting children from other countries instead of the many children we have right here in our own back yards. We have lots of beautiful children waiting to be adopted into a loving home right here in our own country, but for some reason or other, we don't seem to open our eyes and give them a look. It's about time that we do, because they need love just as much as those...

I know the statistics for american children and it irritates me when I see the commercials to help children in other countries I don't think we need to worry about them as long as there are children in our neighborhoods and cities/towns that are homeless and or hardly surviving. When all are taken care of in the U.S. then it makes more sense to worry about children in other countries.
that is a selfish viewpoint- it is opening our hearts to doing the right thing everywhere you are
and not closing our minds ad hearts to people beyond the American border is when you will start to evolve as a human being to a more enlightened viewpoint

It is very pleasing to read your comment, Darlene. Some people don't care about the suffering of others but some do. I am always happy when I meet people who do care about other less fortunate people. Even by simply raising awareness we make a difference. One of the things I do is to help WFP treat Acutely Undernourished children in countries that don't have the social safety nets we are accustomed to. Perhaps you can visit the 'WFP Committee of Boston' FB page just to learn about how WFP addresses global hunger. Please have a nice day! ¯\(ツ)/¯
The American people are to busy with supporting programs that are not for us. Supporting a program to round up horses 168 billion dollars. Instead of putting a roof over childrens heads. We need to help them. Leave the Wild horses free and stop slaughter sending meat to other EU countries. Do things for our children. I watched a documentary a few years ago and it was called ''China and the killing rooms'' orsomething of a similar title, they had this room where they would put newborn babies (usually a girl) and that is where they would die because they did not get any food or comfort, they were not touched again till the poor little babies had died....I HATE China with a passion, they DO NOT value human rights or anything else that has sentient life on this planet! China and similar countries near them...

JOBS are the answer to Homelessness. If decent paying American Jobs are available; fathers and mothers will be able to support their families. Stop Foreclosures, Predatory Lending, and Bank stacking of withdrawals. Put Banking back in the Banking Business, and value back in the dollar. Only a Strong America will eliminate the economics woes of The World.
I worry that its getting harder & harder for a job to keep people fed and housed. This administration does not want that to happen wants us poor, starving & without a home . Did I hear Mayor Bloomberg says 300 sq feet is big enough for folks to live in he should give up his mansion & try it out before he tells other folks wha they need
