Economic Development

ECI works with rural farmers to improve the quality and quantity of crops while leveraging investment for expansion to international and local markets. ECI also partners with local organizations to integrate conservation and rural agriculture to revitalize local markets and household economic stability. An example of one of our agricultural partners is Green House. 

Once considered the breadbasket of Africa, most farmers today are shockingly poor due to prolonged violence, outdated farming techniques, and a lack of infrastructure. Green House aims to revitalize this sector by working with local farmers to improve the quality and quantity of harvests, establish businesses, and generate sustainable incomes. Some farmers, many of whom are women, have already doubled or tripled their annual income as a result.
