Announcement

The Blue Card, providing financial assistance to destitute Holocaust survivors, is launching a “Need of the Month” Campaign. With this campaign, it is our goal to highlight the current needs of Holocaust survivors. We urge you to help us meet these challenges.

The Blue Card will be sending periodic updates on the financial progress
towards our goal.

Meet Judith, a Holocaust Survivor and Stroke Victim

Judith, age 75, is from Hungary. As a child, she managed to survive in the Jewish Ghetto of Budapest and struggled to remain alive in the camp at Bergen Belsen. In 1948, she arrived in the United States and eventually married and raised her family. Sadly, her husband died of a stroke in the 1960s, leaving her to feed, clothe and care for their 12 school-age children.

Today, Judith, having herself suffered a stroke, is paralyzed on the right side and unable to speak. Currently, she lives in a rehabilitation center, and her family would like to bring her home. First, however, the staircase and bathroom need to be reconfigured to accommodate her wheelchair. Your donation to cover the $2500 cost of the modifications will mean that Judith will move freely around the house and again live with her family, so they can take special care of their dear mother.

Thank you for supporting this, giving Judith back the freedom of movement, and returning her to the loving warmth of her family.
