I understand wanting to further human lives and find cures for cancer and so many other diseases in humans. If it was your child, how far would you go? I obviously have a bunny and they are still bred for meat in Ontario, Quebec...etc. I have written more e-mails that I can remember trying to change the policy of how they are slaughtered. Usually they were taken from their cages and strung up by their hind legs kicking and terrified before they were stunned. That policy has now changed and they are stunned in their cages first. A very small step but so less traumatic for these intelligent docile little animals. I think we need to realize that animals will always be used for food and experiments and we need to focus on how to insure that every animal is treated with respect and the most minimal pain. I hate it as much as everybody, but it won't change unless you really step up to the plate and send e-mails with your name and phone number to all your government officials. It works sometimes, I know.

NO!! In this year of 2012, computers do MUCH more getting us ahead with data than testing on animals ever did AND they are finding out animals are gentically so different than us-the results are compromised and non-trustworthy. STOP ANIMAL TESTING as IT GETS US NOWHERE!

AND MAKES US BARBARIC, SENSELESS, UNCARING FOOLS!

No one has the right to do this...its a shame.

Use the losers on death row to experiment on.

No kidding....

There is no need for animal testing. There are many safe to animal alternatives. Most ingredients have been tested so many times over the years that new testing is not necessary. It is a cruel and barbaric practice! Testing on an animal does not prove how a human's body will react to a substance. If that were true, then how come so many drugs get pulled off the market once humans start using them and have adverse reactions to them?

No it is never okay to use a living being! Animal can't speak up for themselves and depend totally on the goodwill of mankind. It is utterly wrong to use them to test products on. We have developed sufficient alternatives. Animals deserve to be treated with the utmost respect and dignity. We humans DO NOT OWN the animal Kingdom! We are NOT on TOP of the food chain...we are just part of it. So we need to stop pretending that we are God, for only He will judge when Judgement Day comes!

They are horrid Lovelace. I called them a few times last year. Others did as well. It was posted to try to get them to release the animals to rescue, they could have been saved, they murdered them. RRRRRRRRr they did NOT even allow anyone to SAVE the animals!

I understand that many people view it as immoral and I also believe in animals should be treated as humanely as possible. But I also understand that for us to have the medical advances that we had requires us to test on animals. Break through we have for cancer medicine, AIDs cures, over the counter medicine...all these things would not have been possible without animal testing. Would you be willing to test completely new medications with no known side affects?

I don't know the correct...

I don't know the correct answer to product testing but I just wanted to throw it out there that we've advanced in many sciences that have benefitted us through unfortunate animal testing.

AS much as I love animals......If it wasn't for animal testing we would't have many medications and vaccines that saved and extended many peoples lives. If you had to choose from a family member or a pet? Just saying every 'issue' has two or more sides. If they didn't , there wouldn't be an 'issue'.

Well put. I would not be alive without the testing on animals that produced the treatments I have and neither would many others. I am a patient at NIH where I was heart broken to see the "animal" elevators. However, those little creatures are providing a life saving methods to millions.

Normally I am against animal testing but if I had to chose between my childrens life or any animals, my children win.

Pretty much what they're doing with vaccines and GMOs isn't it...testing them on humans...way too many of us any way right?

Not for cosmetics or passing food fads, but If it prevents the death of even one little girl, then test away!
