Who's Vested Interest stands to gain more ?

George Osborne from the "nasty" Tories in his justification to attack benefit claimants yesterday said the benefits brigade has a vested interest. Some vested interest from the 3 million unemployed whom many only get a meagre £71.00 per week capped at 1 % for

12 years ago, my second wife was told about the DLA by her doctor. It was there (at £90 per week under her control) to enable her to have support at home and was non-contributory. She applied for it and it enabled someone to care for her in the daytime and enabled me to continue working. She died three years later, but this benefit was a great help to us at the time.
Changes under this government mean cuts. Those who claim the benefit are entitled to it.

If it is really about costs to the state, why doesn't the government claim back the £40,000 tax rebates they've just given to the Lazy Rich in the Budget this year?

Not everyone who on DLA has a disability as some who are kidding on no fit and that what government are trying to do catch liars out people with a disability won't be affected use still get it but have go through medical to prove it so really don't worry to much about it

only 0.5% are getting DLA that should not be, that is one of the lowest % of all benefits. the 0.5% is the governments own statistics and not something that I just pulled out of thin air.

Lisa Michelle Bloor

PIP is no where near the same as DLA, there will only be 2 levels of care needs and not the current 3 levels. To meet the criteria for PIP is near impossible and ATOS have already shown that they are not capable of making judgements by the amounts of appeal that are going through because of ESA and the amount of times ATOS have been proven wrong and their decisions have been over turned in courts across the country time and time again.

My son is special-needs how to survive without this money He gets a higher rate on both Give us all a breaking leave us alone

take the drunks and drug users out of the frame these are self inflicted conditions and should not be paid , this takes away much needed funds for people with genuine conditions.

My Apologies, I appear to have been addressing a mythical 'Dan' at certain points in my diatribe. Just extra proof that it's nothing personal Brian, my rant is directed at a certain 'type' and I'm sure you bear little or no resemblance to it! All the best.

Alive Walters

Alasdair, as somebody who suffers with disabilities i have to say i agree with every word you have written. we can't point the finger at people - nobody knows what is waiting around the corner for any one of us. i believe it is a case of united we stand, divided we fall.

this is important to my son as he has down's syndrome and needs all the help and care he can get the only reason david cameron is doing this is because his son had a disability and passed away he can not take this out on all the other people with a disability.
